PURPOSE:To simplify a system by providing an oil cooler to a by-pass passage, which is branched from a main water cooling passage and is connected to a water pump, with the provision of a thermostat which changes the main cooling water passage over to the by-pass passage. CONSTITUTION:A thermostat 6 is provided on a main cooling water passage 5, through which cooling water is circulated from a water pump 1 to the water pump 1 through both a water jacket 3 of an engine 2 and a radiator 4, between the water jacket 3 and the radiator 4. And a by-ass passage 7 is branched from the upstream side of the thermostat 6, and is connected to the water pump 1 where an oil cooler 8 is provided. As this configuration enables one by-pass passage to effect not only the circulation of cooling water but also the cooling of oil at a time of staring and warming-up, a system can be simplified and the cooling efficiency can be simultaneously improved because the water flow rate passing through the radiator is increased as the number of passages to be branched is decreased. |
