PURPOSE:To compress and form the images of plural originals on one paper so that copying can be performed when the number of the originals is different from that of the copying paper by obtaining image compression ratio from the sum of the lengths of the plural originals in a scanning direction and the length of one paper corresponding to the scanning direction in a specified mode. CONSTITUTION:The lengths l1, l2 and ln of the originals 24a, 24b and 24c in the scanning direction are selected by a key in the keyboard of an electronic copying machine and inputted in a control part 36. Next, the length L of the paper 40 corresponding to the scanning direction is inputted by the key in the same way. The speed of an optical system 35 for scanning is set X times as high as the circumferential speed of a photosensitive drum 1. The paper to which copying is performed is temporarily housed in an intermediate tray 18 through a path 19 after fixing by a fixing roller 15, and it stands by until next copying. Then, whether or not the specified number N of sheets is attained is decided and a flow is finished when the value of a counter becomes n=N. |
