The invention is directed to fungicidal pyridine derivatives and their N-amino salts and acid addition salts, said pyridine derivatives having the formula <IMAGE> I wherein R is mono-, di- or trisubstituted phenyl, wherein the substituents are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of 1 to 3 halogen, 1 or 2 C1-3-alkyl, 1 or 2 C1-3-alkoxy and 1 or 2 trifluoromethyl moieties; R1 is hydrogen, C1-6-alkyl, C2-6-alkenyl or C2-6-alkynyl; R2 is hydrogen; R3 is selected from the group consisting of -CO-R4, -C(OR5)=CHR6, -CH(R4)OR5, -C(R4)=NOR7 and <IMAGE> R4 is hydrogen or C1-5-alkyl; R5 is C1-4-alkyl; R6 and R7 are hydrogen or C1-4-alkyl; n is 2 or 3; or R2 taken together with R4 is equal to the group -CH=CH- (vinylene); as well as to fungicidal compositions containing these compounds as the active substance, and to the use of the fungicidal pyridine derivatives, their N-amino salts and their acid addition salts in a method of combatting the growth of fungi in agriculture and in horticulture. |
