PURPOSE:To stabilize simultaneous and single operation of a plurality of motor- driven compressing elements in a closed casing by forming the casing of the electric motor-driven compressing elements into a horizontal cylinder with both ends closed, and filling lubricant on its inner bottom to commonly immerse the base of each compressing element. CONSTITUTION:Low-pressure and low-temperature intake refrigerant gas, after flowing into an inlet muffler 105 from a suction pipe 9, is sucked into electric motor-driven compressing element 101, 201 through each of suction pipe 106, 206, and is compressed to have high pressure and temperature. Then the gas is discharged to each of high pressure space 103, 203 in a closed casing 102, and liquified in a condenser 6 after flowing out through a common discharge pipe 5. Then it is decompressed in a capillary tube 7, and is evaporized in an evaporator 8 to become low-pressure and low-temperature refrigerant gas. In this case, the common lubricant 104 is filled in the closed casing 102, and therefore, the oil level of each of electric motor-driven compressing elements 101, 201 is always stable during either simultaneous or single motion of the elements.
