PURPOSE:To obtain the miniature and light-weight shaft excellent in distortion- proofing and of non-magnetic property and high hardness, by age-hardening processing of alloy(s) consisting of manganese, nickel, copper, and attendant impurities of specified percentage. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting of 15-35% manganese, 15-35% nickel, by weight percent, residual copper and attendant impurities is subjected to an age-hardening process to produce a shaft for a motor. Non-magnetic property and distortion-proof property and kept by manganese which is an element necessary for reducing weight, and nickel is separated from manganese and is an element necessary for improving the distortion-proof property of the shaft and for improving hardness. The age-hardening-processing is necessary for improving distortion-proof property. |
