PURPOSE:To enable the temperature of fuel in a pump to be prevented from increasing, by providing an electronic control device which opens a bypass control valve when an engine is in idling operation further with the temperature of fuel in the pump in a predetermined value or more. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control device 26, if it decides an engine being in idling operation on the basis of signals of an accelerator opening sensor 42 and an engine speed sensor 43 further a temperature of fuel in a pump 1 by a pump temperature sensor 44 increasing to a predetermined value or more, opens a bypass control valve 41. In this way, the device 26, opening a bypass overflow passage 40 bypassing an overflow passage 39 used in ordinary time, returns fuel in a fuel chamber 6 to a tank 29 by the maximum permissible flow limit. Accordingly, the device 26, supplying new fuel of low temperature to the fuel chamber 6 by a feed pump 3, enables the temperature of fuel in the pump to be prevented from increasing.
