PURPOSE:To improve the display performance of broadcast stations at home and abroad by discriminating an inter-office step frequency to decide a display element corresponding to a broadcast station and displaying a broadcast station having the field intensity higher than a prescribed level despite different inter- office step numbers. CONSTITUTION:When an AM broadcast is received through a keyboard 13, a searching action is started for the broadcast station. Then a microcomputer 6 supplies the data signal to a PLL14 so that the sweep frequency signals are supplied to the mixing circuit of an AM front end circuit 9 from the PLL14 for the selection of broadcast stations of 530-1,610kHz. Here a signal corresponding to the signal obtained at the output of an AM wave detecting circuit 10 is supplied to an A/D converting circuit 12.
