PURPOSE:To provide an easy setting of environmental information and prescribed value by performing the control of the modem or the data transmission based on the environmental information that is extracted from a decode table into which the coding information is inputted. CONSTITUTION:If the communicational environment is set, a communicational environment setting part 1 is activated to request for an input of the communicational environmental information. The environmental information inputted from a keyboard device 2 includes coded information and non-coded information. If it is the non-coded information, the information is converted in the setting part 1, and stored in the environmental information storage area 11 built in a communication control part 4. If the information is a coded one, it is transferred to a decode control part 3. The decode control part 3, based on the coded information, retrieves the decode table 5. If the specified decode code is found, the control part 3 takes out various information in the said code, and the information is stored in the storage area 41 in the communication controlling part 4. Therefore, the setting of the communication environmental information is accomplished by an easy operation.
