PURPOSE:To eliminate a deposition of an auxiliary member and a metallic die by using a member whose main component is carbon, as the auxiliary member, with regard to a metallic mold repairing method for executing an arc welding by putting the auxiliary member against a defective part, and thereafter, removing the auxiliary member, and shaping the welding surface. CONSTITUTION:A groove 1a is worked in a defective part of a metallic die 1, a carbon plug 15 is inserted into a punch hole 3, and a filled weld 6 is executed by a welding rod 5. The carbon plug 15 is not melted by an arc heat, and drawn out easily after welding. After the plug 15 has been drawn out, the upper face of a bead 6 is finished by a grinder 16. In this way, a deposition of the auxiliary member and the metallic die in case of a welding repair of the metallic die is eliminated, and the finish shaping is executed easily.
