PURPOSE:To obtain a positively chargeable photosensitive body superior in durability by successively laminating an electrostatic charge transfer layer for carrying positive holes, and a charge generating layer contg. a photoconductive azo pigment, and a specified charge transfer material on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer 3 laminated on the charge transfer layer 4 formed on the conductive substrate 5 in succession contains an azo type photoconductive pigment 1 represented by formula I in which A is a divalent org. group having a conjugated double bond between C atoms connected with an azo group or N(C6H6)3; B is a coupler having phenolic OH; and l is 2 or 3. The layer 3 also contains the di- or tri-arylmethane type charge transfer material 2 represented by formula II in which R1-R4 are each alkyl or (R1, R2) and (R3, R4) each forms an N-contg. hetero ring; R5, R6 are each alkyl or alkenyl or each may be cyclized with each other to form a 3-10C hydrocarbon ring; and R7-R10 are each H, halogen, alkyl, or the like. Such a charge generating layer 3 can secure sufficient carrier transfer performance in the layer even when the binder is increased, and surface strength, sensitivity, and light memory can be enhanced. |
