A bracelet comprises a pair of C-shaped parts 1 which fit together to form a loop. a catch to hold two of the ends of the parts I together and a hinge connecting the other two ends wherein the hinge includes two elements 3 and 4 attached to the portions 1 and hinged about hinge pins 9, the elements 3 and 4 being housed in respective adjacent hollow end portions of the parts 1 so as to be enclosed when the bracelet is closed. The elements 3 and 4 comprise plates having edge portions 5 extending normally of the planes of the plates, each edge portion extends beyond the edge of the plate end is apertured, 6. The elements are connected by a third member 7 having knuckles 8 in which are located the hinge pins 9. One hinge axis lies adjacent the open hollow end portion and the other axis lies inset from the other open hollow end portion. The catch comprises a spring tongue 12 secured in one part 1 at C and slideably received in the other part 1 and having two laterally projecting lugs 18 and two. laterally projecting tongues 15. The spring tongue is longitudinally divided over the major part of its length so as to be laterally deformable when the lugs 18 co-operate with the end portions of the slot 13. The lugs register behind the end portions of the slot 13 by spring action and are freed by the finger operated lugs 15. |
