PURPOSE:To record a luminance signal without applying the time base compression and to obtain a color video signal recording system capable of preventing the deterioration of picture quality by modifying an angle of winding a tape and separating recording areas for the luminance signal and chrominance signal. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape T comes into contact with a rotating drum D in a range of 180 deg.+60 deg.. As shown by a recording track of the magnetic tape T in the figure, when one rotating head A records a recording area enclosed by diagonal lines, that is, the area corresponding to the winding angle 60 deg., the other rotating head B is caused to record the next track simultaneously. At this time, luminance signal components are not subjected to the time base compression, and recorded as 1Y, 2Y, 3Y... for every field, while chrominance signal components are subjected to the time base compression, and recorded sequentially as 1C', 2C', 3C'... in a part corresponding to the tape winding angle 60 deg.. Thus the luminance signal and chrominance signal are recorded at different positions on the tape, and the deterioration of the picture quality caused by the mutual interference can be prevented. |
