PURPOSE:To give the maximum energy product, residual magnetic flux density and coercive force equal to those of strontium ferrite, by incorporating PbO, Fe2O3 and La2O3 in a proportion to satisfy a given composition formula therein. CONSTITUTION:A lead-lanthanum based ferrite magnet containing a compound expressed by the composition formula (PbO.Fe2O3)100-X(La2O3)X (n is 5.5-6; X is 1-4) as a main component. Thus, maximum energy product, residual magnetic flux density and coercive force equal to those of strontium ferrite are obtained from the above-mentioned magnet.
