PURPOSE:The titled composition having improved impact resistance especially at low temperature, obtained by enlarging a specific amount of a specified rubber like-copolymer latex with a specific amount of specified acid group-containing copolymer latex and an oxyacid salt, subjecting the prepared latex to graft copolymerization with a monomer (mixture). CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. rubber-like copolymer latex obtained by subjecting 51-99wt% 2-8C alkyl group-containing acrylic ester and 49-1wt% 1,3-butadiene to emulsion polymerization is blended with 0.1-5pts.wt. of (B) an acid group-containing copolymer latex obtained by subjecting 3-40wt% unsaturated acid such as acrylic acid, etc. and 97-35wt% 1-12C alkyl group-containing acrylic acid alkyl ester to emulsion polymerization and/or (C) an oxyacid salt such as an alkali metal salt of an oxyacid consisting essentially of an element of the second and the thrid periods of IIIA-VIA group of periodic table, to give enlarged rubber-like latex having 0.12-0.4mum average particle diameters. 100pts.wt. of the latex and (D) 10-1,000pts.wt. monomer (mixture) comprising 50-100wt% methyl methacrylate and styrene are subjected to graft copolymerization, to give the desired composition. |
