METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GRAPHIC PROCESSING

PURPOSE:To obtain a physical address corresponding to a logical address at a high speed by calculating the logical address and then the physical address in terms of hardware. CONSTITUTION:A control part 20 receives an instruction from another controller and decodes it to control arithmetic parts 21-23 for the logical address, physical address and picture element data respectively. Then the part 20 processes the graphic data. Here the physical address corresponding to the logical address calculated immediately before calculation of the physical address is replaced in terms of hardware simultaneously and in parallel to the calculation of the logical address and every time the logical address serving as a coordinate point in a logical space of a >=2-dimensional form is calculated in terms of software as an address which is adjacent to the logical address calculated immediately before said logical address. Then the graphic element data corresponding to the address of a display memory is replaced with the prescribed one based on the replaced physical address.
