In a vacuum brake booster a guide plate (20), which is fixed on the shoulder (29), designed as centring tube, of the control valve housing (11) containing the control valve (9) is provided for mounting and guiding of the pushrod (14), which interacts with the piston of the master cylinder flanged onto the booster. The guide plate (20) is equipped with a central bore (26), the radially inner edge of which in the direction towards the master cylinder is flanged to form a collar (27) and through which the shank of the pushrod (14) is led, the control-housing-side head flange (15) of the pushrod (14) bearing on the back pressure disc (13), which is supported in a recess (25) provided in the control valve housing (11). The guide plate (20) has an annular flange part (28) formed by a radially outer section, which serves as bearing for the unit spring (16). A circular-disc-shaped section (31) of the guide plate (20), which is provided between the collar (27) and the flange part (28), is provided with apertures (34, 35), through which the lugs (30) pass, which are parts of the shoulder (29) of the control valve housing (11). Firm seating of the guide plate (20) is achieved by a circular cylindrical section (36) which encompasses the master-cylinder end or the shoulder (29) of the control valve housing (11). <IMAGE>
