<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize electromagnetic conversion characteristics by guiding a magnetic recording medium so that the winding angle/tangent angle value is set at the proper value larger than 1 and therefore securing a constant floating spacing distribution of a flexible magnetic recording medium over the entire surface opposite to the medium. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 2 is guided by outer magnetic tape support guides 13 and 14 set at both sides of magnetic tape support parts 5 and 6. A winding angle beta is prescribed by a magnetic head 1 itself, and a constant floating spacing distribution is attained over the entire surface 11 opposite to a medium. Then the winding angle beta/tangent angle alpha is set at the proper value by a guide means set outside the head 1 or another means set to the head 1 itself. Thus a constant floating spacing distribution is secured. Therefore, the floating spacing has no change at a place near an electromagnetic conversion gap 9 since the floating spacing distribution has no tilt despite a dynamic variance factor of the winding angle such as vibrations, etc. This can stabilize the electromagnetic conversion characteristics of the head 1.</p> |
