PURPOSE:To prevent the abrasion or transfer defect of the surfaces of a platen and a printing head by uniformizing the pressure distribution of the platen, by pressing the printing head at two regions near the center spaced apart from both ends of the platen only over a specific distance. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head is pressed to the side of a platen 4 by springs 15, 15 and the pressing position is set to two regions near to the center from both ends of the platen 4 only over about 1/4-length base on the length of the platen 4. By this method, the pressure distribution of the platen 4 can be uniformized and the abrasion and transfer inferiority of the surfaces of the platen 4 and the thermal head 6 can be prevented. |
