PURPOSE:To provide possibility of sheet supply without causing generation of excessive tensile load, in a rotary press having a printing drum fitted with a bent seal, by pulling the continuous sheet at the upper and lower streams of the printing unit in appropriate timing so as to the effect is applied to the specific length to be cut. CONSTITUTION:A seal 12 if fitted on a printing drum 10, where the seal shall have an arc length equivalent to a quarter of the circumferential length piD of the printing drum 10, and when sections A, B, and so on of a continuous sheet 14 are to be printed, the sheet 14 shall be drawn intermittently in the direction of the arrow in the attached illustration, each for a length corresponding to the zone size L of sections A, B, and so on which the printing is proposed. That is, when advanced for one length l, the sheet 14 shall be stopped instantaneously, during which the leading edge b of the seal 12 on the drum 10 rotated continuously will come up to the printing contact position c, and now the sheet 14 is again advanced in the same direction for another length L. At this time, pulling action for the sheet 14 shall be conducted at the upper and lower streams of the printing unit in proper timing so as to eliminate such inconveniences as color dislocation, sheet breakage, etc. |
