A centrifugal pump comprises an essentially round pump housing, a pump impeller centrally arranged in the housing, a motor fixed on the pump housing in a central position, the output shaft of which motor is coupled to the pump impeller, an intake aperture provided on that side of the housing opposite the motor and an outlet connection on the outer circumferential edge of the housing. In order to simplify the manufacture, storage and maintenance of the pump, the housing (1) is divided in a plane lying perpendicular to the housing axis (6), which plane runs through the centre of the housing, the two housing halves (7, 8) being of identical design. The outlet connection (4) is at the same time formed separately and connected to a lateral outlet aperture (5) provided on the outer circumference of the housing. The two dished housing halves (7, 8) are preferably made of plastic. <IMAGE>
