A self-supporting free-standing disposable filter bag for the making of infused beverages, especially tea, is constructed by application of the folding and knurling technique to form a statically effective lattice-like supporting element. The disposable filter bag permits individual selection of the variety of tea, offers convenient filter filling, requires few working stages and manipulations for its preparation, and entails little effort in the introduction, removal and disposal of the filter.
