PURPOSE:To obtain a picture of good quality while being excellent in contrast and having no surfacial defect by a method, in which the core material part of a fiber plate is made hollow by removing its part down to specific thickness for forming a phosphor layer on the surface while forming a coated layer on the inner wall of the cavity. CONSTITUTION:The side of a photoemitting surface 26 of a core material 22 of a fiber plate composed of numbers of monofils consisting of a core material 22, coating material 23 and an absorber 24 is so much removed as that the thickness of said core material may not exceed 0.5mm. in order to be made hollow 41 for forming the fiber plate 43 with a cavity while leaving the rest 42 of the core material for enforcing. A coating layer 45 is formed on said cavity wall surface 44 for forming a phosphor layer 10 on the photoinciding surface 23. Thereby, the generation of black spots can be prevented thus to obtain a picture of high quality while being excellent in contrast. |
