摘要 PURPOSE:To perform level bore casting of a stable and robust copper alloy with which cracking or rupture hardly arises by drawing intermittently a copper alloy casting ingot which is formed in a cooled casting mold or drawing intermittently the casting ingot while oscillating the cooled casting mold. CONSTITUTION:The level bore casting of a copper alloy wherein a molten metal is horizontally charged into a heat insulating receiving tank 9 for molten metal provided on a cooled casting mold 3 having a graphite sleeve 8 on the inside circumferential surface without changing the level of the molten metal is performed in the following way: A copper alloy casting ingot 11 formed in the mold 3 is cast while it is intermittently drawn from the molten metal 10 charged into the tank 9. The drawing of the ingot 11 in this case is preferably accomplished in general at a slightly higher drawing speed for a slightly shorter drawing time and longer stop time in a slightly larger drawing cycle. As a result, the prevention of the sand burning and sticking of the ingot 11 to the sleeve 8 in addition to the above-described characteristics are obtained; further the friction resistance between the sleeve 8 and the ingot 11 is decreased and the quality on the surface of the casting ingot is improved.
