PURPOSE:To eliminate backlash on the pitch circles of gears and facilitate their engagement, by providing a body and a tooth portion which can be deformed in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION:A flexible gear 3 comprises a tooth portion 3c deformable in the radial direction, a body 3b deformable in the radial direction and made of an elastic material such as rubber, and a boss 3a. Since the gear 3 is deformable in the radial direction, it is tightly engaged with another undeformable gear and there is no backlash on their teeth. For that reason, the torque of a shaft is exactly transmitted and the flexible gear is very advantageous in the control and assembly of mechanical elements. |
