PURPOSE:To produce the titled oscillator which is compact with high performance transmitting microwaves effectively by a method wherein two stepped cylindrical gas cell is provided in a cavity. CONSTITUTION:A rubidium gas cell 2 with two stepped face plate is provided in a cylindrical cavity 1. An antenna 3 for transmitting microwaves is provided on one side of the cavity 1 while a solar battery 4 as a light receiving element is provided on the reverse side. The light from a rubidium lamp 5 reaches the solar battery 4 through a light passing hole 6 in the cavity 1. The microwaves may be effectively radiated owing to the antenna 3 subject to almost no influence of the wall surface of the rubidium gas cell 2. The rubidium gas cell 2 in the cavity 1 made of glass with less dielectric loss such as quartz is formed into two stepped cylindrical structure so that the wall surface of the glass may be located on the strongest part of the antenna 3 and in the direction of the electric field thereof. On the other hand, another antenna 7 for monitoring microwaves on the side reverse to the antenna 3 may be mounted very easily. |
