Automatic transfer of continuously wound yarns or cables - from one spool to another using microprocessor control of reciprocating guide pins and spool carriages

Machinery for continuous wind-up of a flexible profile comprises a framework supporting two independently driven spools mounted one above the other and adjacent subframes carrying cantilevered pins which can move horizontally or vertically respectively to transfer the path of the moving profile from the upper spool to the lower spool or vice versa. Also describes logic systems for microprocessor control of such machinery. - Used for continuous automatic or semi-automatic wind-up of flexible profiles being produced at a constant rate, e.g. textile yarns, electric cable, optical fibres, flat multicore analogue signal cables etc.
