IR-absorbing, rub-resistant, transparent films useful for greenhouse are manufd. from a compn. contg. 100 parts Olefinic polymer and 2-25 parts oxide comprising an optionally hydrated silicate of a Group II-IV metal, the ratio of the refractive index of the polymer to that of the oxide being 0.99-1.02. The film can be laminated on 1 surface with on ionomer or an olefinic polymer. Thus, 100 parts ethylene-viny1 acetate copolymer(n=1.498) and 5 parts A1 silicate gel (n=1.493; 21% absorbed water at 25oC and relative humidity 65%), predried 2 hr at 150oC and contg. 26% A12O3 and 67% SiO2, were kneaded 8 min at 150oC with 0.3 parts dispersant and pressed at 170oC to form a 100-μ-thick film.
