PURPOSE:To obtain a coil core in which a conductor is wound through a central hole in an annular body, by a method wherein a long ribbon made of an amorphous ferromagnetic material is wound in a multiplicity of turns to form an annular body, which is annealed to relax the stress therein. CONSTITUTION:The core is constituted by a ribbon made of an amorphous ferromagnetic material. The long ribbon is wound in a multiplicity of turns along at least either the outer peripheral surface of an innr support 5 the outside diameter of which is contracted on heating or the inner peripheral surface of an outer support 6 the inside diameter of which is expanded on heating to form an annular body 2. The annular body 2 thus maintained in a predetermined shape is annealed to relax the stress therein and make the elasticity of the ribbon lost. As a result, after the annealing, the annular bod 2 will not loosen if both the supports 5, 6 are removed. Thus, it is possible to obtain a coil core having ferromagnetism. The heating temperature is selected to fall between the crystallization temperature and the Curie temperature. |
