In order to erect embankments, soundproofing earth walls, banks or the like which can be cultivated with plants, the invention provides scaffolding-type structures which form a means for holding the earth. In the case of the present design, there are set up on the ground, at defined intervals, frame elements (1) which are secured by tie rods or supporting webs (4). Cladding elements (2) continuing in the horizontal direction are fastened on lateral delimiting profiles (3) of the frame elements (1). At their upper edges, said cladding elements (2) are connected to the delimiting profiles (3) by transverse connecting profiles (5).
