Arrangement for equalising amplitude and phase distortions on transmission paths for analog signals

Analog signals undergo amplitude and phase distortions on transmission paths. For automatic adaptive equalisation, an equaliser network with a transverse filter structure (TVF) is set up at the receiving end with transit times @ which are determined by the bandwidth which is to be equalised. The filter coefficients are set with the aid of a digital test signal with a pulse duration tau which is transmitted from the transmitting end and stored at the receiving end in undistorted form (TEST). The received distorted test signal (d) is compared with the undistorted test signal (W) and an error signal ( <IMAGE> ) generated. The filter coefficients are set with the latter, e.g. on the basis of the stochastic gradient algorithm. <IMAGE>
