In the case of a radial piston machine, especially a radial piston pump, an axially displaceable rotor is provided, which is pivotally connected by way of a spring coupling (2), engaging on the one rotor end face, to a connecting shaft (30) located as a coaxial extension of the rotor. The rotor (1) is arranged in the machine housing (20) or in the stator in such a way that on the charging pressure side (13) of the machine a face gap is formed between rotor (1) and housing (20) or stator, through which, in operation of the arrangement, pressure medium from the charging pressure side (13) can be fed to at least one sector area of that rotor end (32) on which the spring coupling (2) does not engage. In this way the rotor (1) is centred by the spring coupling (2) and the pressure from the charging pressure side acting on the sector area of the rotor end (32) in such a way that in an axial direction no metal-to-metal contacts and hence no friction losses occur. The non-contact position of the rotor in an axial direction improves, in particular, the efficiency of radial piston machines of smaller output and reduces the transmission of structure-borne noise. Rotor and stator may be provided as a structural unit and flexibly supported in the machine housing. <IMAGE>
