摘要 PURPOSE:To regulate the water flowing from a head to a plate shape and cool a high temp. steel plate uniformly over the entire surface by controlling the head of a water tank connecting to a water cooling nozzle to the atmospheric pressure or under and setting the velocity of flow in the water tank lower than that in the nozzle in water cooling of a high temp. steel material. CONSTITUTION:A water feed pipe 3 is inserted into a sealed water tank 1 provided with a water cooling nozzle 2 of >=250mm. length, and the nozzle 2 is closed, then cooling water is fed into the tank 1 via a flow rate control valve 6 with a pump 5. Next, while the water is discharged through the water discharge pipe 7 in the upper part of the tank 1, the opening-closing device 10 for the nozzle 2 is opened and the opening of the valve 6 is controlled to lower the head of the feed water, then the flow of the pipe 7 stops and the tank 1 and the nozzle 2 constitute a siphon pipe, thus the pressure in the tank 1 goes lower than the atmospheric pressure. The flow velocity of the cooling water in the tank 1 goes lower than that in the nozzle to eliminate turblent flow and since the water flow like a plate cools the steel plate, the steel plate is cooled uniformly over the entire surface.
