<p>A warning device for a vehicle, which has a steering angle detector (10) for producing steering angle pulses (S2 and S3) in response to the steering direction every time the steering angle exceeds a predetermined angle, a dozing drive detecting circuit (16) for deciding a normal state when the steering angle becomes larger than a predetermined angle in the steering direction represented by the steering angle pulses or when the pulse interval of the steering angle pulses becomes longer than a predetermined value and for detecting the fact that a steering angle lower than a predetermined angle, in the steering direction different from the previous steering direction occurs as frequently as a predetermined frequency produces an alarm signal (S4), and an alarm unit (28) for producing visual or aural alarm responsive to the alarm signal. This warning device can accurately detect the driver's falling asleep, produce the alarm and awake the driver. </p> |
