A weldable thread, comprising a thermoplastic filament and a continuous rubber-elastic component, also comprises a non-thermoplastic component. Specif., a thermoplastic and a non-thermoplastic filament may be wound around an elastic core. The arrangement improves frictional binding of the whole thread, thus preventing slipping of the core.
