PURPOSE:To detect a target accurately by displaying echoes received during horizontal scanning and vertical scanning on the same screen. CONSTITUTION:A transmitter 21 actuated by a control signal 181 supplies electric pulses to a transducer line 1 to emit pulses of an acoustic wave to a prescribed sea area. A receiving circuit 13 amplifies echo signals induced at the elements in the transducer line and adjusts their phases to form a sharp received-wave beam at the transducer line 1, and further operates in cooperation with a scanning circuit 14 to scan the prescribed range. Through a horizontal/vertical scan changing switch 15, echo information, obtained by horizontal scanning, of the output of the scanning circuit 14 is supplied to a storing circuit 16 and echo information obtained by vertical scanning is supplied to a storing circuit 17. The distributed pieces of echo information obtained by the vertical scanning and horizontal scanning respectively are collected at a display control circuit 18 to be supplied to a cathode-ray tube display circuit 20. |
