1424598 Hydrogen peroxide compositions P HERZOG and K HERZOG 1 June 1973 [9 June 1972] 26182/73 Headings A5B and A5E A disinfectant for use in disinfecting doctors' hands comprises an oil-in-water emulsion having a continuous aqueous phase containing hydrogen peroxide. The oil phase may comprise glycol mono, di and triesters of fatty acids, liquid and solid paraffins, petroleum jelly, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, stearic acid and lanoline, and the emulsifier may be a polyoxyethylene sorbitan mono-oleate, sodium lauryl sulfate or cetyl alcohol. Optional ingredients are stabilizers such as urea, other disinfectants such as hexachlorophene, glycerol, and antiallergic materials such as azulenes. The compositions also may be used for the treatment of skin diseases (e.g. in combination with corticosteroids or acetyl salicylic acid), for intimate hygiene applications, for treating haemorrhoids, and for treating burns. |
