PURPOSE:A preventing agent against damping-off of a rice plant containing methyl ester of either of N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-N-(methoxyacetyl or 2-furoyl)-alanine and a 3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole. CONSTITUTION:A preventing agent containing 0.002-1pt.wt. methyl ester of N- (2,6-dimethylphenyl)-N-(methoxyacetyl)-alanine or N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-N-(2- furoyl)-alanine and 1pt.wt. 3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole or a salt thereof. The agent exhibits a remarkable synergistic effect on prevention of damping-off of a rice plant, and is capable of inhibiting the development of damping-off of a rice plant stably by the soil or seed treatment under any raising conditions of a seedling. EFFECT:Safely usable without phytotoxicity. |
