A tooth-flank testing device has a housing attachable to a gear cutting machine bed or similar. The housing carries a measurement sensor movable under control in two orthogonal axes along the test piece tooth flank. The resulting measured positions are compared with desired positions. The arrangement requires less computer capacity and programming effort than conventional systems, enables single or series testing, and can continuously adapt its spatial positioning to the test procedure. A sensing bolt (60) is pressed against two neighbouring tooth flanks (76r,76l) on the test gear. The bolt moves freely on two carriages (52U, 52V) parallel to the orthogonal axes. Each carriage has an associated position sensor (54u,54v) connected to the control and evaluation circuits. The housing has an adjustable tripod and inclinometer levelling system.
|
