PURPOSE:To attain a cooling effect and a soundproofing effect with a simple construction by a method wherein an air passage is provided for forcibly discharging the heated air from a line printer to the bottom portion of the device, in a soundproof casing for a line printer or the like. CONSTITUTION:A line printer main body in the upper portion of a soundproof casing 10 comprises an actuator 15 and a crossflow fan 16 for cooling the actuator 15. The fan 16 blows down the cooling air taken in from the back surface of the rear portion of the device in the direction indicated by arrows C and C'. The air having cooling the actuator 15 is directed into an air duct 17 and flows down to the lower portion 17'''. In the air duct 17, there is arranged a combination of an expansion type silenser and rectangular bends for the cooling rout, and sound-absorbing members are glued to the inner part. The cooling air coming out of the duct 17 is discharged to the outside of the bottom surface of the casing by a crossflow fan 18. |
