PURPOSE:To make easier an assembly of an emitter by pressing on a supporting electrode under a condition that the emitter and a heating holder are supported by a vertically movable holding plate. CONSTITUTION:A tool body 9 with a height-regulating ring 11 and a positioning ring 12 is fitted into a screw 6 of a fitting metal 5. The positioning ring 12 is vertically moved by the rotation of the height-regulating ring 11 and an emitter 1 and heating holders 2a and 2b are moved in the same direction through a holding plate 14. When the emitter 1 is set at a given position, the emitter 1 and the heating holders 2a and 2b are inserted into between the supporting electrodes 3a and 3b. Then, the position ring 12 and the holding plate 14 are lowered by the rotation of the height-regulating ring 11 and the holding plate 14 is withdrawn. After taking the tool body 9 out of the fitting metal 5, the Wehnelt electrode is screwed with the fitting metal 5.
