1486690 Dicyclohexenyl dimethyl methane resins; adhesive compositions BEIERSDORF AG 8 Aug 1975 [8 Aug 1974] 33209/75 Heading C3P Adhesive resins are prepared by polymerizing in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst dimethyl-dicyclohexen-3-yl-methane alone or together with a mono- or di-ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon or chlorohydrocarbon containing 4 to 12 carbon atoms as comonomer, the mole ratio of dimethyl-dicyclohexen-3-yl-methane to comonomer, if present, being up to 1 : 2. The preferred comonomers areα-pinene, #- pinene, dipentene, cyclopentadiene, vinylcyclohexene, cyclododecene, styrene, butadiene, isoprene or chloroprene. Pressure sensitive adhesive compositions comprise the adhesive resin and a natural and/or synthetic rubber, a polyolefin, polyacrylate, polyvinylacetate, polyamide or polyester. The adhesive resin may also be used with ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymers or polyamides in hot melt adhesives. |
