Process for the production of small tubing, e.g., hollow fibers comprising (a) preparing a solution of an organic fiber-forming polymer, containing, in a uniformly dispersed form, a sinterable inorganic material; (b) extruding the inorganic material-containing polymer solution through a hollow fiber spinneret; (c) forming a polymeric precursor hollow fiber, laden with the inorganic material; (d) treating the polymeric precursor hollow fiber to remove the organic polymer; and (e) sintering the resulting inorganic material in hollow fiber form. |
