<p>The auto-gripping fastener comprises a plate with several obliquely angled cut out flaps (2, 3, 4, 5), and may be used to fix a masking section (20) over a non-filled expandsion gap (30) between two building panels (28, 29). The flaps provide the anchorage mechanisms and two (2, 3) located on the external corners lock into the masking section (20). Two other larger flaps (4, 5) cantilever from the internal edge (7) zones and take anchorage between the faces forming the expansion gap (30). The pate is of elastic material, may be of steel or similar, and may be rectangular. Before angling relative to the major faces of the plate, all the flaps may cantilever in the same direction. Once bent into their final positions the diagonally opposed flaps (3, 4) may incline in the same direction.</p> |
