PURPOSE:To provide diuretics having no side effects such as diarrhea, vomitting, etc. caused by the decrease of potassium ion in the body, containing 16-phenoxy- 17, 18, 19, 20-tetranor-prostaglandin F2 derivative as an effective component. CONSTITUTION:Diuretics for the remedy of hypertension, anasarca, vesical function insufficiency, prostatomeglay, etc., containing a prostaglandin F2 analog compound of formula (X is -(CH2)3-, -CH=CH-CH2-, trans-CH2CH=CH-; R1 is 1-12C straight or branched chain alkyl, non-toxic cation; R<2> is H, CF3, Cl), or its cyclodextrin adduct, as an active component. Most pref. compound is 16-(3-trifluoromethylphenoxy)-17, 18, 19, 20-tetranor-trans-DELTA<2>-PG2alpha methyl ester. Dose: 1mug-lmg, 1-several times per day, by oral, rectal, or parenteral administration. |
