<p>The ignition current flow from the ignition switch lock to the ignition primary coil is interrupted by a switch actuated by the accelerator pedal. The starter motor relay is actuated by the accelerator so that when the pedal is depressed, the starter is activated and the ignition circuit is closed. The starter is deactivated as soon as the engine fires. There is a considerable redn. in exhaust gas emission in heavy traffic conditions. The system is applicable for both diesel and petrol engines. The system could be used with a freewheel system in the transmission to facilitate freewheeling with the engine stopped.</p> |
