Electroplating or chemical treatment drum - contg. perforated pipe for uniform spraying of water or liquids onto workpieces

The barrel or drum is fitted with a perforated pipe arranged in the drum so that water or other treatment liq. can be sprayed downwards onto the heaped mass or bulk of workpieces being treated. With an electroplating barrle, the dia. of the bearing journals is pref. almost as large as the inner dia. of the drum; and the pipe is located in the journals, so it extends over the entire length of the drum. The holes in the pipe pref. spray the inner walls of the drum with water or liq. flowing by gravity through an open funnel into the pipe; instead of liq., hot air may be blown through the pipe. Used in treating small pieces in bulk, only a small amt. of rinsing water is required but the rinsing effect is improved.
