The spreader consists of a container with a carrying handle at its upper end and an outlet-and/or scatter opening at its bottom. The outlet-and/or scatter opening (6 or 15) at the bottom end of the chute (4 or 14) faces a given peripheral region of the container (1). There, it is encompassed by a metering scoop (7) which has its free end directed radially outwards and has a flat, inclined end section (8). The chute (4) extends from the outlet-and/or scatter opening at a constant slope over the complete container cross-section.
