The temp. of the cooling metal is fed to an amplifier and then an analogue/digital converter, to obtain signals (ST) scanned by a microprocesser. The signals are stored, displayed, and fed to a computer which provides (a) the C-equiv., (b) % C, (c) a switch supplies a correction factor (c1) and then the % Si is obtd., (d) a memory may provide signals for controlling the mfr. of the molten metal. The pref. appts. includes at least one microprocessor, the computer, memory stores, with logic elements feeding the liquidus temp. (TL) and/or value (a) to the memory stores, and also providing the solidus temp. (TS). Used for thermal analysis of metals, esp. molten cast iron.
|
