<p>The end of a sliding window (2) is fitted with a hydraulic cylinder (5) acting as a buffer when it reaches the end of it travel when being closed. The piston rod (9) of the cylinder carries a block (10) with a recess in it, for a driving dog projecting downwards from the window frame. The cylinder does not affect the window during opening, but increases its resistance as the distance (6) between the window and the frame (3) decreases. The cylinder incorporates an adjustable throttle (14) so that this resistance can be controlled to a required amount.</p> |
