The cable is for charging or interconnecting a battery and has a cap to be plugged on to the pole of the battery. The cap- has a cone-shaped inner profile and a side entry for the cable (1) which has an insulating cover (10) of red or blue plastic material. The plug (2) cap for the battery has a moulded on connecting cone (11) which can be plugged into a similar cap in the inner cone to form a tight fit. The connecting cone is centrally fitted to the inner cone on the outwardly facing surface. It can be used for connecting batteries in parallel or in series.
